Anil’s career includes notable roles at Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement, where he developed a deep understanding of ship management and maritime services.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, he brings a strong business strategy foundation to his leadership, crafting innovative compliance solutions that align with global decarbonization goals.

Anup Chechani is a seasoned Naval Architect and Marine Engineering professional with over 15 years of experience in ship design, vessel performance optimization, and decarbonization strategies.

Specializing in regulatory compliance for CII, EU ETS, and FuelEU Maritime, he has played a key role in developing innovative tools to enhance vessel performance and sustainability. Anup collaborates closely with stakeholders to deliver cost-effective and practical solutions, helping the maritime industry navigate evolving regulations and meet the latest standards.

His expertise in technical and technological advancements continues to drive impactful results in emissions reduction and regulatory compliance.

Ramesh Iyer is a proficient Director of Product Development, adept at identifying business process bottlenecks and offering innovative solutions. His domain consulting expertise spans defining product roadmaps, assessing integrations, and leading requirement mapping, feasibility studies, and post-implementation support.

At OceanOpt, he directs the development and management of VECTOR features and updates. Ramesh’s IT skills include software configuration, database development, and on-site rollouts, supported by experience in data verification and project initiation.

With extensive knowledge of software implementation in ship management systems and hands-on maintenance of marine and electro-mechanical systems, he specializes in project implementation, gap analysis, and user acceptance testing.

Alex Joseph is an expert in his field with 15 years of experience in business consulting and leading alliances and partnerships across EY, Oracle, and Accenture. Alex brings a unique blend of strategic thinking, operational expertise, and stakeholder alignment to OceanOpt’s team.

As the Consulting Lead, he heads the firm’s Consultancy and Compliance Advisory services, supporting maritime clients in navigating evolving regulatory frameworks like EU ETS, FuelEU Maritime, and IMO mandates.

Alex’s approach emphasizes practical strategy, client trust, and sustainable transformation — enabling organizations to align compliance with long-term business value. He holds an Executive MBA in Strategy & Marketing from IIM Kozhikode and is deeply committed to advancing real-world decarbonization across the shipping industry.
