Ever since its inception in 2024, OceanOpt has been driven by a singular mission: making life easier for seafarers.
On the occasion of the Day of the Seafarer, we launched a week-long campaign that brought to life two AI-generated characters to narrate a story.
Captain Mateo Herrera and Chief Engineer Marek Kowalski were inspired by conversations and insights gathered from real-life seafarers across the industry. Through their stories, we showcased the everyday challenges faced onboard: mounting administrative tasks, growing compliance requirements, and the increasing burden of reporting. Challenges that often take time away from core maritime operations.
We believe seafarers should be able to focus on what they do best: navigating vessels safely, maintaining operational excellence, and keeping global trade moving. They should not be spending countless hours on repetitive compliance reporting.
The Captain and Chief Engineer represent thousands of maritime professionals whose voices continue to shape our solutions. Their experiences reinforce our commitment to leveraging technology to simplify reporting processes, reduce administrative workload, and eliminate inefficiencies that arise.
As we celebrate the people who power the world’s oceans, we remain steadfast in our goal: transforming compliance from a burden into a seamless process.
AI Disclosure: “The Watches” uses AI-generated and AI-enhanced visuals to recreate representative maritime moments. The film is inspired by the dedication of seafarers, but the people, vessels, locations, screens, and operational scenarios shown are dramatized and illustrative. No real crew, vessel data, or live operational information is depicted.
